AN UNOFFICIAL HOMEPAGE FOR BELL COUNTY RESIDENTS

Let's Take Back Bell County!

Home

A Picture is Worth A Thousand Words
Welcome to BellCounty.Net - This website was created to provide Bell County residents with a forum where they can voice their concerns and frustrations about how our fair County is being run.

Are you fed up with the campaign drivel that we heard during the recent Primary election?

Are you mad that the same political incumbents who solicited your vote during the Primary were quick to later DENY you any vote on approval to fund a new County Jail? They forgot that we will have to pay for it.

Wonder why our elected officials can vote themselves substantial pay raises and literally get away with it?

Are you fed up with how the Tax Appraisal District takes you to the cleaners and how County Commissioners conveniently distance themselves from that hot button issue?

If you identify with these concerns, then this website is designed for you. It is an open forum for frustrated taxpayers and disenchanted voters!

The good news is that, working together, we can TAKE BELL COUNTY BACK!

  • Sadly, the final vote on the School Bond Issue will mean high taxes for local taxpayers. Worse, we probably see no improvement in the quality of education.
  • Received your Notice of Appraised Value from the illustrious Tax Appraisal District? Still in sticker shock? Compare it to any pay raise you received this past year! Plan now to contest the assessment. The process is simple - even if you don't always win, it is excellent therapy for venting about so-called leadership in Bell County!
  • Curious about the exhorbitant salaries and other perks our local politicos enjoy? Well, stay tuned and learn why they just love to stay in office.
  • Soon we will learn what company will be awarded the construction contract award for the new Jail - join me in following the money trail.
  • Want more evidence about why folks no longer believe it is worth voting for anything in Bell County? Take a look at the poor turnout at the last several elections! Out of 22,582 registered voters in the Belton Independent School District, only 1,683 folks went to the polls. Against this background, nobody should be talking about a mandate.
  • Remember - Together We Can Take Bell County Back!
Hopefully, this site will be a source of valuable information for Bell County residents. Our goal is that BellCounty.netwill bring a refreshing change to what we have seen in local politics!
